The Office of the Chief, Army National Guard Trial Defense Service annually recognizes three individuals for their exceptional contributions to the organization. The awards showcase the leadership abilities and talents of outstanding Army National Guard TDS members, and honor the late Colonel Patrick A. Barnett, the founder of Army National Guard TDS.
One of HLPW's own, Partner Damon Gunnels, was named the recipient of the Outstanding Counsel Award. This award recognizes one defense attorney who, during the award period, best exemplified the highest ideals of professionalism, commitment, and passion of a Judge Advocate in the pursuit of justice. This year it is awarded to CPT Damon Gunnels, Defense Counsel, GAARNG.
